Shri Ashok Nene- Chitpavni Revivalist and Author from Goa

Ashok Govid Nene (b. 15 November 1956, Dicholi, Goa) is a Chitpavni author and revivalist from Goa. He is a graduate in Commerce having earned the degree Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) from Mumbai University.

When it comes to Chitpavni, and it’s current scenario, one cannot move ahead without acknowledging Sh. Nene’s efforts. He has been working continuously for the revival and awareness of Chitpavni- a dialect of Marathi, for more than 10 years now. He has published many books in Chitpavni.

He has also served as the Chief Advisor for Saad Chitpavanicho, the first Chitpavani Anka published by Ganpule Foundation, Thane. He will also hold the position for coming editions of the Anka.

Khadtar Jina (खडतर जिणां ) a book comprising various Lalit Lekh(s) was published in 2017. Abhyas Chitpavni Bolicha (अभ्यास चित्पावनी बोलीचा) a guide book for Chitpavni was published in 2021.

Nene is currently working on a Chitpavni to Marathi glossary (dictionary).

Residing in Kadtari Sonal- Valpoi Sattari (Goa), he engages in promotion and teaching of Chitpavni through online media.
